The combination of the traditional ARC Bien Donné Farmer's Day, and the Agri Cape Week, which has been hosted by Agri Mega for the past two years at Boland Agricultural High School, is the result of continued and extensive discussions and negotiations between these two parties. Agri Mega and the Agricultural Research Council (ARC) are, from this year, proud to present: Bien Donné Agri Cape Week Expo at the ARC's Bien Donné Research Farm, situated between Paarl and Simondium on the R45. This event will take place between Wednesday 4 and Friday 6 May 2011, boasting the theme of 'Agri Outlook 2020', specifically focussed on the fruit, vegetable, and wine industries.

Agri Cape Week has in the past been presented at the Boland Agricultural High School, and has become of the most prominent agricultural expos in the Western Cape. The management and organisation of this event falls to Agri Mega, who will also be presenting the Bien Donné Agri Cape Week; are also responsible for the annual Agri Mega Week which takes place in Bredasdorp, as well as the newest addition to the Agri Mega stable, the Mega Steak Week, which took place for the first time this year on the grounds of the Boland Agricultural High School. Mega Events, an affiliate of the Agri Mega Group are, with their phenomenal great expertise, in charge of the enormous task of managing, and organising these events.

The nature and format of the various expos that Agri Mega presents differ quite substantially from the run of the mill. It is so much more than just an expo. It is an interactive opportunity with a unique mix of agricultural and industry targeted exhibitions, demonstrations, workshops, information days, competitions, school programmes, and training opportunities. The visitor is provided with the chance to rub shoulders with prominent role-players, not only from the various industries, but also from within the government and organised agricultural sectors, as well as representatives from commodity organisations, agricultural business, and research and development institutions. Exposure to the newest in research findings, production, and technological advances, ensures that this event is the ideal occasion to engage in networking and informational cross pollination.

These events also distinguish themselves apart from traditional expos, in as far as the target audiences for which they are developed. All participants, ranging from new, emerging, and commercial producers, to agricultural labour, youth, and women in agriculture, are all welcomed with open arms. Programmes are specifically targeted at the unique requirements of the various participant with due emphasis placed on the value being added to the individuals, specific sectors, and agriculture as a whole. The popularity of such an interactive approach is growing exponentially and attendance figures exceed expectations, year after year.
