The contents of this document provides a functional and even thorough overview of the Agri Mega Group: where, why and how the group originated; how it positioned itself as an agricultural service provider; the successes and opportunities of the past, present and future; where the group currently fits into the agricultural sector; where it is heading to; what it wants to achieve over the short, medium and long term; and about services and programmes.

Holistically evaluated, Agri Mega is service and development orientated and driven. Agri Mega Group came about to provide services and to facilitate holistic development and growth in agriculture. In this context, Agri Mega Group initially, and continuously after that, evaluated agriculture; identified service and support needs; and positioned itself to fill the gaps and to provide services to address unanswered needs.

From its inception Agri Mega Group functioned as a sectoral vehicle to address needs and subsequently it became an active and committed partner of agriculture with a primary task to align itself and the sector in terms of the capacities to facilitate sustainable production and food security. Sustainability in agriculture became the buzz phrase of Agri Mega Group. The Group succeeded in becoming a representative role player in the primary agriculture and to develop holistic representation. Through representation the group improved professional service delivery in the industry.

The Group not only became a symbol of transformation and development in the industry,but part and parcel of the processes. The agricultural development entity proved that transformation in the South African agriculture could extend past theories and planning documentation into the practical world. Transformation became a reality and subsequent to this, also crucial agricultural goals such as successful and viable land reform, agricultural transformation and commercial production.

During the previous years the Agri Mega Group developed sufficient structures for sustainable service delivery to agricultural target groups, despite their nature and composition. These structures were developed to focus on sustainable agricultural practices as a guarantee for food security. In terms of holistic services to agriculture Agri Mega regards itself as a facilitator, delivery mechanism and agent. Functional facilitation and delivery lead to holistic co-operation and networking with various sectoral role players, including service and product suppliers.

The Group further succeeded with its objectives and this is largely due to the network of relationships that came about as part of an initiative to provide a one stop service delivery mechanism for producers. Against this background, the Group is proud to say that it is fulfilling its vision and mission. The Agri Mega Group does not operate in a void and without partners. It owes many thanks to a large number of stakeholders, including incredibly trustworthy sponsors and supporters. It is they who supported Agri Mega Group to cement its position as an agricultural service provider and facilitator in primary and secondary sectoral context. Agri Mega Group has the greatest respect for its supporters and the way they commit to agriculture in South Africa.
